Purpose

AccesPub is a SaaS tool for automatic accessibility remediation of EPUB documents. Using this service implies acceptance of these legal terms.

Intellectual property

All service content — including code, design, text and images — is the property of Alberto Barajas González or used under authorising licences. Reproduction, distribution or modification without express permission is prohibited.

Limitation of liability

The owner does not guarantee the absence of errors or uninterrupted availability. AccesPub generates indicative conformance reports; final accessibility validation is the user's responsibility.

AccesPub automates technical accessibility corrections in EPUB files and facilitates compliance with the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and WCAG 2.1 AA. However, AccesPub does not certify or guarantee that a processed EPUB is fully accessible. Automated validation tools cannot evaluate all accessibility criteria: the semantic quality of alt text, language clarity, the adequacy of complex layouts, and the accessibility of multimedia content require human review. Final conformance with applicable regulations is the sole responsibility of the publisher or rights holder.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. Any disputes shall be subject to the courts of Barcelona.

Data processed and purpose

• Contact email (voluntarily provided when requesting an access code): used solely to manage the contractual relationship and technical support.
• EPUB files uploaded for processing: stored temporarily in session and automatically deleted at session end.
• Technical browsing data (session cookie): required for service operation; not shared with third parties.

Legal basis

Processing is based on contract performance (Art. 6.1.b GDPR) and, where applicable, the legitimate interest of the controller (Art. 6.1.f GDPR).

Data retention

Contact data is retained for the duration of the contractual relationship and subsequently for legally required periods. EPUB files and session data are automatically deleted at session end.

Recipients

No data is transferred to third parties except where legally required. The service uses Fly.io infrastructure (Amsterdam region) and the Google Gemini API for image alt-text generation, both under GDPR-compliant data processing agreements.

Your rights

You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection by writing to info@abserveis.net, enclosing a copy of your identity document. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
